This 2–3 hour presentation and workshop will begin with an introduction to artist, illustrator, and author Tim Musso and his creative practice. Musso will share his artistic philosophy and show examples of his sketchbooks and artwork, along with videos demonstrating his technique.
The second part of the workshop will involve a live demonstration by the Musso showing how he approaches making observational drawings in the field using toned paper, black and white charcoal pencils, and ink.
Each participant will receive a kit of supplies and an object to draw using this drawing technique. While not required, participants are encouraged to bring their own natural object (stick, stone, bone, plant, fossil, etc) no larger than a football. This object will be the source of the observational drawing. Drawing objects will be available for those who do not bring one. No previous artistic experience is required or expected. Due to supply shortage, registration is required for this event
