On a never-ending quest to find the most remote places in southern Utah, Dave was drawn to the solitary adventure of Grand Staircase. He is a long-time visitor to the area, often on his trusted BMW motorcycle, and has always loved popping in to Hell’s Backbone Grill in Boulder. When the Monument boundaries were reduced, Dave ran across an article in the New Yorker where the restaurant’s owners, Jennifer Castle and Blake Spalding, talked about the fight to save Grand Staircase with GSEP. From that point on, Dave was hooked and is now the Treasurer on the Board of Directors, providing valuable expertise to the organization as a CPA who works exclusively with non-profits.
