Draft Resource Management Plan for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument Available for Review and Public Comment

Earlier today, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) published a Notice of Availability and opened a 90-day public comment period for the Draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

This is a critically important process to ensure that 1) the new RMP aligns with the 2021 Proclamation and protects all of the objects of value identified, 2) supports co-stewardship with the Tribes, and 3) includes management directives that will support landscape scale resiliency.

The documents and instructions about how to comment can be accessed here. The comment period closes on November 9, 2023.

The BLM will hold five public meetings with opportunities to speak with resource specialists: two virtual meetings and three in-person meetings.

To learn more about these meetings and register to attend, please visit the BLM website here.

The resource management plan will be developed with maximum public involvement and be designed to ensure the long-term protection of monument objects.
