It is crucial that we all gather this information. In the short term, vandalism or other compromise to the resources set apart in the 1996 proclamation (biological, geological, archaeological or paleontological) helps serve as evidence for a preliminary injunction should litigation be necessary. A preliminary injunction can serve to halt any further action until the case works its way through the courts. In the longer term, it can help tell the story of how people use the Grand Staircase and help create management plans that can be dynamic in protecting these resources.
